Job Overview:
Our ChildWatch program is seeking a dedicated and passionate Daycare Worker to join our team. As a Daycare Worker , you will play a crucial role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. You will be responsible for implementing age-appropriate activities, and ensuring the overall well-being of the children in your care.
Responsibilities:
- Daycare Workers implement activities that align with the YMCA's curriculum and educational standards
- Create a safe and inclusive environment that promotes positive behavior and social-emotional development
- Provide age-appropriate activities and materials to stimulate cognitive, physical, and social development
- Monitor children's progress and provide regular feedback to parents or guardians
- Collaborate with other Daycare Workers to ensure a cohesive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records of each child's attendance, progress, and any incidents that may occur
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's daily activities, progress, and any concerns that may arise
Skills:
- Applicant must be at least 16 years old.
- High school diploma or an equivalent degree is preferred but not required.
- An understanding of child development, early child education and/or child/family psychology is preferred.
- One or more years’ experience working with preschool or elementary aged children is required.
- CPR/First Aid certification strongly preferred but must be willing to get obtain it as soon as a class is offered by the YMCA.
- A patient, high-energy, and goal-oriented attitude is essential.

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 20 per week
